GIUSEPPE GIULIETTI

On April 1st, 1972, the Italian tanker GIUSEPPE GIULIETTI tonnage 17.600 tons, length 193m, 16 knots, , on a voyage from Porto Torres, Sardinia to Lisbon, foundered, sprang a leak 14 miles South Cabo Sao Vicente, Portugal, with 26.000 tons of gasoil and fuel for Soponata portuguese oil company. All 33 crew were saved. GIUSEPPE GIULIETTI was built in 1954 at Ansaldo, Sestri Ponente and owned by Societa Anonima Cooperativa Di Navigazione Garibaldi, Genoa.
