KAI
SS Kai, built by Osbourne, Graham & Co.,
Sunderland in 1883 and owned at the time of her loss by Dampsk. Selsk. Myren
(Holm & Wonsild), Copenhagen, was a Danish
steamer of 1391 tons. On November 5th, 1917, Kai, on a voyage from Melilla to
Port Talbot with a cargo of iron ore, was scuttled by the German submarine U-63
(Otto Schultze), southeast of Cape St Vincent, Portugal. There were no
casualties.

Victoria, built by Antwerp Engineering Co. Ltd., Hoboken in
1912 and owned at the time of her loss by Förnyade Ångfartygs A/B Svenska
Lloyd, Göteborg, was a Swedish steamer of 1.226 tons.On March 18th, 1917,
Victoria, on a voyage from Cadiz to Lisbon with general cargo and fruit, was
sunk by the German submarine UC-67 (Karl Neumann), 20 MILES OFF PORTIMÃO.

WILHELM KRAG vapor dinamarquês 3716 tons construído em
1882. Afundado com cargas explosivas pelo submarine alemão U-35 em 24-04-17 a 2
milhas ao largo da praia do Burgau Algarve Wilhelm Krag é um dos quatro navios afundados na costa algarvia ao
largo da Praia da Luz pelo submarino alemão SM U-35 em plena Primeira Guerra Mundial. Este é um local com bastante fauna
marinha, pois os destroços servem de abrigo a várias espécies e é,segundo os
especialistas um dos melhores naufrágios existentes no Algarve
O submarino Alemão SM
U-35, comandado pelo comandante Lothar von Arnauld de la Perière,
perseguiu e afundou no litoral do Algarve dois cargueiros dinamarqueses Wilhelm
Krag e Nordsoen, outro norueguês o Torvore, e ainda uma
embarcação francesa o Bienaimé Prof. Luigi, todos localizados no barlavento algarvio.

Pirahy, built by J. Readhead & Sons, South Shields in 1901 and owned at the
time of her loss by West of England Shipping Co. Ltd. (Geo. C. Shepton),
London, was a British steamer of 3561 tons.On October 28th, 1916, Rio Pirahy,
on a voyage from Livorno to Barry Roads in ballast, was scuttled by the German
submarine U-63 (Otto Schultze), 60 miles south of Cabo Sao Vicente. There were
no casualties

Marquis Bacquehem SS was a
British Cargo Steamer of 4,396 tons built in 1893 and owned by Nelson, Donkin &
Co Ltd, London but requisioned by the Admiralty. On the 30th October 1916 she
was torpedoed and sunk in the Atlantic when 50 mile SxE from Cape St. Vincent
by German submarine U-32 when on
a voyage from Calcutta to Middlesbrough with a cargo of Manganese Ore.

SS Selene, built
by Offic. e Cant. Liguri Anconitani, Ancona in 1903 and owned at the time of
her loss by Soc. Commerciale Italiana di Navigazione, Genoa, was an Italian steamer
of 3.955 tons. On October 28th, 1916, Selene, on a voyage from Norfolk to
Italy, was sunk by the German submarine U-63 (Otto Schultze), 30 miles
southeast of Cabo de Santa María. There were no casualties
