SS Selene, built by Offic. e Cant. Liguri Anconitani, Ancona in 1903 and owned at the time of her loss by Soc. Commerciale Italiana di Navigazione, Genoa, was an Italian steamer of 3.955 tons. On October 28th, 1916, Selene, on a voyage from Norfolk to Italy, was sunk by the German submarine U-63 (Otto Schultze), 30 miles southeast of Cabo de Santa María. There were no casualties
