SS Kai, built by Osbourne, Graham & Co.,
Sunderland in 1883 and owned at the time of her loss by Dampsk. Selsk. Myren
(Holm & Wonsild), Copenhagen, was a Danish
steamer of 1391 tons. On November 5th, 1917, Kai, on a voyage from Melilla to
Port Talbot with a cargo of iron ore, was scuttled by the German submarine U-63
(Otto Schultze), southeast of Cape St Vincent, Portugal. There were no
casualties.
