LUIGI CIAMPA



SS Luigi Ciampa was an Italian steamer of 3988 tons, built by N. Odero fu A., Sestri Ponente in 1900 and owned at the time of her loss by F. S. Ciampa & figli, Castellamare. On January 4th, 1917, Luigi Ciampa, on a voyage from Philadelphia to Gibraltar with a cargo of wheat, was sunk by the German submarine UC-37 (Otto Launburg), 15 miles off Ponta de Sagres.
