SS Rio
Pirahy, built by J. Readhead & Sons, South Shields in 1901 and owned at the
time of her loss by West of England Shipping Co. Ltd. (Geo. C. Shepton),
London, was a British steamer of 3561 tons.On October 28th, 1916, Rio Pirahy,
on a voyage from Livorno to Barry Roads in ballast, was scuttled by the German
submarine U-63 (Otto Schultze), 60 miles south of Cabo Sao Vicente. There were
no casualties
