by Tyne Iron Shipbuilding Co., Newcastle in 1894 and owned at the time of her
loss by Wilh. Wilhelmsen, Tønsberg, was a Norwegian steamer of 3621 tons; 2299
nrt, 6000 dwt. 350.0 x 43.1 x 27.2; triple expansion engine (NE Mar. Eng. Co.
Ltd., Newcastle), 340 nhp, 1760 ihp;On October 28th, 1916, Torsdal, on a voyage
from Civitavecchia to Barry in ballast, was sunk by the German submarine U-63
(Otto Schultze), 25 miles southeast of Cape St. Vincent, Portugal. There were
no casualties.
