Zakia ex “Fort Capot River” built in Canada in
1943 7200 tons sold in 1964 to Panama as
Zakia On November 21st, 1964, while on passage from Wismar to Italy with a
cargo of iron, SS Zakia was in a collision in fog off Cape St. Vincent with the
Greek tanker Hyperion, and sank the following morning while in tow of two
Spanish trawlers.
